Bangkok International Film Festival 2025

27 Sep 2025

In 2003, Bangkok International Film Festival was established and became one of the biggest film festivals in Asia. However, the festival has stopped since 2009 and has disappeared for 15 years.

In 2025, Thailand Creative Culture Agency which is the new initiative of the Thai government in creating agency to support the creative industry including films has decided that it is the right time to revive the Bangkok International Film Festival again. The new Bangkok International Film Festival, which is completely different from the old festival before 2009, is organized by non-profit organization with the support of The Ministry of Culture, the Department of Cultural Promotion and Thailand Creative Culture Agency.

The Bangkok International Film Festival aims to become the largest film festival in Southeast Asia, both in terms of the number of films screened and the variety of activities hosted. The goal is to establish Thailand as a cinema hub in the region. It will be a festival that places films and the film industry at its center, with the aim of using the event as a platform to position Thailand and Bangkok as a hub that connects film professionals in Asia with the international community.
