LAUGH WITH TEARS, SCREAM WITH JOY
IRISH FILM FESTIVAL 2023
THIS OCTOBER AT HOUSE SAMYAN - FREE ADMISSION!
On Friday 13th, get chilled and thrilled with ‘You Are Not My Mother’, a psychological thriller about a girl who finds her mother acting eerily after her mysterious absence. Before this feature you will see a short film ‘Bainne' (‘Milk’) – a striking black&white Jack Reynor’s directorial debut (Jack Reynor is a well-known actor in ‘Transformers’, ‘Sing Street’ and ‘Midsommar’), starring Will Poulter (‘Maze Runner’), about a man who meets a ghost during the Great Famine.
During the weekend the latest Irish drama nominated for the Oscars, ‘The Quiet Girl’ will show twice, along with ‘Late Afternoon’, a 2018 Oscars winning animated short film. Anyone will fall in love with ‘The Last Right’, a quirky dark comedy about a man who is left in charge of a corpse of stranger sharing his surname. It’s fate! ‘The Last Right’ will be screened with ‘An Irish Goodbye’ which absolutely can’t be missed – it won this year Oscars for the best short film!
For those who love music, ‘North Circular’ is a documentary that will take you to the north of Dublin, an iconic place for local bands and tunes. The accompanying short is ‘Ruthless' a heartfelt short film about a son and a father in Belfast as they reinvent their connection via glam-rock.
All of films are showing with Thai subtitles and original audio, with free admission. 'The Quiet Girl' will have both English and Thai subtitles with original Irish language audio. Please pick up tickets at House Samyan box office (5th floor Samyan Mitrtown) 2 hours before the first show on the day of the screenings.
