The Exhibition will show new faces from Hong Kong film industry - their works and also their visions. The designer recreates scenes of those Hong Kong films using intricately designed props and settings.

It will showcase exhibits and reconstructed sets from ten films funded by Film Development Fund (FDF), which supports projects conducive to the long-term development of the city’s film industry. These films were made possible either through FDF’s Film Production Financing Scheme or its First Feature Film Initiative. The former provides partial financing to assist small and medium-budgeted film productions, and the latter provides full funding for new directors to make their first feature films. Included A Guilty Conscience directed by Jack NG, A Light Never Goes Out directed by Anastasia TSANG, Hand-rolled Cigarette directed by CHAN Kin Long, Hong Kong Family directed by Eric TSANG Hing Weng, Lost Love directed by KA Sing Fung, Mama's Affair directed by Kearen PANG, My Prince Edward directed by Norris WONG, Over My Dead Body & The Sparring Partner directed by Ho Cheuk Tin, and Sunshine of My Life directed by Judy CHU.

The Presentation features screenings of seven Hong Kong films including A Guilty Conscience which will open Thailand Programme, a massive hit in Hong Kong earlier this year and rapidly became the highest-grossing local film in Hong Kong to date. In a rare dramatic performance, Hong Kong stand-up comedy pioneer Dayo Wong stars as Adrian Lam, a magistrate who returns to private practice in hopes of earning a quick buck from rich clients. However, when his lazy, devil-may-care attitude causes his client (Louise Wong, the breakout star of Anita) to be wrongly convicted of murder, he must take on the rich and powerful to redeem himself.

Both Director Jack NG, actress Renci YEUNG will be attending the Thailand event in person to kick off the film programme. Director Jack Ng says, “I hope that the Hong Kong Film Gala Presentation will show Thai audiences a new generation of Hong Kong cinema. I also look forward to attending the event to share stories behind the making of A Guilty Conscience and the state of film production in Hong Kong with Thai filmmakers and audiences.”

The Presentation also includes A Light Never Goes Out, the two Hong Kong Film Awards nominations and the director Anatasia Tsang will attend the opening event and also the Q&A session. It is also the Hong Kong entry for the Best International Film Award in the Oscars 2024. Mad Fate by Soi Cheang, the film made its world premiere at Berlin International Film Festival 2023.
