He decides to meet Shinju, a suspect at the detention center. Realizing her keen intellect and ability to perceive his lies, he impulsively proposes a marriage to prevent the meeting from being terminated. Seemingly opening up to him, Shinju spoke about the murders as if she was talking a dream.  However, on the trial day her "confession" leaves the country in disbelief ----"I didn’t kill anyone."
