German (EN Subs) | Images of the World and the Inscription of War An aerial photograph taken by an American reconnaissance plane in 1944 during a bombing raid on the IG Farben plant reveals the “blind spots” of perception. While analysts identified the surrounding factories, they failed to register the Auschwitz concentration camp visible at the edge of the frame, a detail recognised only decades later by the CIA. Through tightly woven montage and commentary, the work examines how wartime vision is shaped by institutional priorities, showing that what is seen or overlooked is conditioned by political, scientific and military agendas, leaving viewers complicit or vulnerable within the machinery of war.
