One day, Ganta finds an abandoned astronomical observatory at his high school. There, he meets his classmate Isaki (Nana Mori), who also suffers from insomnia. Isaki secretly uses the astronomical observatory to take naps. These two students didn't talk much before, but their secret of having insomnia connects them. They soon face a crisis when a no entry sign is posted in front of the astronomical observatory. To regain access to the astronomical observatory, they decide to revive the astronomy club.
