Hong Kong Film Gala Presentation 2023

House Samyan, in collaboration with Asian Film Awards Academy will bring you ‘Hong Kong Film Gala Presentation 2023'

            As part of Hong Kong Week 2023@Bangkok, this year gala presentation will gather top 5 Hong Kong films in the last couple years; focusing on new generation filmmakers. Along with one restored classic and one documentary from veteran film director. Not only screening showcase, the exhibition also be held at House Samyan hall. The event starts October 22 - 27, 2023.

The magnificent seven are A GUILTY CONSCIENCE (the first Hong Kong film to top 100m HKD at local box office) , A LIGHT NEVER GOES OUT (Hong Kong’s contender for this year Oscar’s best international film), MAD FATE (a new film by Soi Cheang) , OVER MY DEAD BODY (a black comedy recently won the award from Osaka film festival), HONG KONG FAMILY (won people's choice award from Pingyao film festival), ELEGIES (a documentary from Ann Hui) and NOMAD (1982 classic starring Leslie Cheung).

The director of A Guilty Conscience, Jack Ng and his leading star, Renci Yeung will attend the post-screening Q&A. Anastasia Tsang (A Light Never Goes Out) and Ho Cheuk Tin will appear in Bangkok to meet their audiences as well. 

Another highlight of this event is the Next Generation: Emerging Directors Exhibition. The full decoration aiming to introduce young blood filmmakers from Hong Kong and their works to Thai audience. Admission to the exhibition is free.

All films will be shown in Cantonese with Thai and English subtitles and the ticket is priced at 160 THB.
